Salamanje at Demure Look
Demure Look are a UK-based website that sell beautiful, mostly silk, Turkish scarves. They've recently started stocking a new product called Salamanje; which is by Turkish brand T-box. It consists of a cotton/modal mix scarf twisted tightly and packaged in a small box.
I was recently sent the Salamanje scarf in two colours, pink and midnight blue, to review. Once unpacked, they actually come out crinkled. The fabric itself (60% cotton, 40% modal) is brilliant; it's like a much softer, lighter version of jersey, perfect for warmer weather. And as much as I really love my jersey scarves, I've found they can be quite heavy and suffocating in hot weather.
The Salamanje can be washed and left to dry flat, or scrunched up again if you prefer it with crinkles. The scarves are generously sized at 180cm x 60cm, enough to wrap around twice if you wanted to. I found the scarves stay in place very well and hold their shape. They also withstand pins without snagging easily. I'm really into shades of royal blue right now, and the colour of this one is lovely. Now if only they had printed versions of these!
The Salamanje scarf is available in five different colours on the Demure Look website. They're ideal for taking away on holiday as you can easily fit them in the smallest of bags, and are practical and comfortable enough to wear all day long.
