Facebook continues to make a load of money off of advertising, bringing in $6.24 billion in ad sales during the second quarter. Eighty-four percent of that sum came from mobile ads, the social giant revealed today.
All in all, Facebook made $6.44 billion—a 59 percent year-over-year increase—during Q2 while adding 60 million monthly users, and it's stock price is at an all-time high of just over $123. The social network now has 1.71 billion monthly users, 1.13 billion of which are on mobile devices.
Perhaps even more impressively, across desktop and mobile platforms, its daily users reached 1.13 billion in the second quarter.
If that's not enough to make investors happy, Facebook Messenger now has 1 billion monthly users, and the company is reportedly looking for short-form content partnerships for the messaging app.
Also, Instagram reached 500 million users during the quarter.
